Typical session: 10–20 min
Ultrasound Therapy

A physiotherapy that uses the cycle of compression and dilation of frequency waves. Maximum absorption in soft tissue occurs in the 2–5 cm range, decreasing as the waves penetrate deeper. The waves are absorbed mainly by connective tissue — ligaments, tendons, fascia and scar tissue — which is why ultrasonic physiotherapy is usually recommended for treating muscles and joints.

Good for

  • Chronic muscle tightness
  • Tendon discomfort
  • Stiff joints
  • Slow-healing soft tissue

Good to know

  • Over implants or pacemaker
  • Pregnancy (over abdomen)
  • Active cancer
  • Over open wounds
